[HMG Celebrity News] – Remember how we told you Arnold Schwarzenegger is doing a new Terminator movie? Well, that will probably come later. The big guy is now set to play a guy who kidnaps a boy for ransom – then finds the parents don’t want him back.

Called ‘Cry Macho’ the movie is based on a novel by N. Richard Nash, best known for Burt Lancaster’s 1956 drama ‘The Rainmaker.’ It tells the story of a horse trainer [Arnold] who gets retired by his boss and is eager to get some cash for this unwelcome retirement.

Short on both cash and options he agrees to kidnap his ex-boss’s son, then finds the guy’s wife is all too willing to get the pug-nosed delinquent out of her life. So the whole plan goes kinda pear-shaped.

The film will be directed by Brad Furman who was in charge of Matthew McConaughey’s ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ which opened last month. It gets better – the producer is Al Ruddy, who ran the show for ‘Million Dollar Baby’ – which won four Oscars – and ‘The Godfather,’ which scored two.

Arnold signed up for the movie before he got into politics in 2003, but it all went on hold while he ran California. Clint Eastwood was briefly keen but never committed, so Arnold is back in the part.

And now he’s back things will move quick – The Cannes Film Festival opens on May 11 and Arnold and the film’s producers will be there to raise funds. They plan to start shooting as soon as they return…assuming the check doesn’t bounce.

So that’s the word, guys – the big guy is back and this is his first chance to prove he’s still got it. It’s not cyborgs and Harleys but will you book a seat? Let’s hear your reaction to this…
