‘Glee’ star, Jane Lynch signs for Three Stooges film
[HMG Celebrity News] – There are many popular shows on TV, but at the top of most people’s lists must be Glee. And one of the stars, Jane Lynch has now joined another potential success – she’s set to co-star in the Three Stooges movie.
The movie is coming together at Fox and will be directed by no less than Peter and Bobby Farrelly, who directed ‘Me, Myself and Irene,’ ‘Something About Mary’ and ‘Dumb and Dumber’ – so they’ve got the right skills.
Jane, 50, has been cast as the Mother Superior in charge of the orphanage where the Stooges, Larry, Curly and Moe each grow up – despite her best efforts to get them adopted and restore peace and quiet.
For those not too sure, the Stooges became a national sensation in 1934 with a series of two-reel slapstick films. They worked 40-weeks a year for 23 years and created 190 shorts and five feature films. And for this they were paid just $600 a week – with no royalties.
But the casting for the movie has had some fans in fits before the cameras are even in place – Sean Penn was in talks to be Larry, Benicio del Torro was going to be Moe and Jim Carrey was all set to play Curly. But that all turned to goo.
Today, Chris Diamantopoulos ['Charmed,' 'The Sopranos'] is due to play Moe, Canadian comedian Will Sasso is ‘Curly’ and Sean Hayes ['Will & Grace'] recently signed to play Larry Fine.
The Farrellys have been trying to get this movie made since 1996 and production will finally start sometime next month with a release due next Spring.
If you plan to see it who would you want as the cast?…
