(HMG Celebrity News) – Train wreck actress Lindsay Lohan, who will start in on 480 hours of community service by week’s end,  appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Tuesday.  Lohan says being sentenced to jail on a parole violation Friday was “shocking” and claims it left her “kind of numb.”

“I think that when, you know, being young and being in the position I was in, you don’t really take the time to appreciate what you have and it’s all kind of a whirlwind, and people make decisions for you,” the actress said in an interview with Jay Leno for Tuesday’s Tonight Show. But when asked by Leno if her treatment was fair or unfair, Lohan said she was “treated the way I should be treated.” Almost sounding like she is finally taking responsibility for her actions Lindsay said: “But I’m not a kid anymore — I’m 24. I’ve made a lot of mistakes and I recognize that.”

Lindsay added, “I’m in the clear now, and as long as I stay focused, I can achieve what I want to achieve.”

Lindsay says she plans to resurrect her acting career with a role in the upcoming film Gotti: Three Generations, in which she’s scheduled to play Kim Gotti, the wife of John Gotti Jr.

Responding to a Leno softball question about where she sees herself six years from now, Lindsay who first appeared on “The Tonight Show” when she was 12 simply said, “Hopefully sitting her after I’ve won an Oscar.” She added, “That would be ideal.”

Lindsay had a familiar face in the audience for her “Tonight Show” appearance in her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley, whose husband, Dorian Holley sings lead in the show’s house band according to TMZ.
