Nicolas Cage may face child abuse probe

[HMG Celebrity News] – When Nicolas Cage was arrested for drunken behavior on April 16, it looked bad. Well, it got worse; There are now claims of child abuse.

Nic and his wife, Alice had been having dinner with friends at a restaurant on Dumaine Street in New Orleans. The official version is that Nic was [allegedly] drunk and fell over, dropping Kal-El, his 5-year old son.

“At some point, Mr. Cage fell while holding their son,” says the official Police incident report. “This caused the child to suffer a minor abrasion to his left knee, and she [Alice] then recovered the child.”

But an eyewitness claims Nic pulled Kal-El down on purpose.

“As Mr. Cage was being transported an unknown passer-by stated he observed Mr. Cage pull the male child to the ground by his hand,” the report explains. “Based on this information, a child abuse detective was notified.”

But here’s an odd bit – That detective decided no more action was needed. But then they notified Child Protective Services and suggested an investigation be launched.

The cops took a picture of Kal-El’s injury, but Alice refused to let them talk to him and would not give a statement. Their report also says Nic was “hysterical and irrational” and clearly having a really bad day;

“The male appeared heavily intoxicated, displayed slurred speech and was belligerent,” it reads. “He was yelling, ‘Get the police! Get me outta here! She’s trying to kill me!’”

It took two officers almost 30-minutes to calm Nic down enough to read him his rights. They finally arrested him because of his ‘manic state, the level of intoxication and the witness statements.’ so we’re told.

“Alice Cage reported she and her husband, Nicolas Cage, were involved in a verbal altercation. He grabbed her by the upper right arm and pulled her,” reads the official review. “She suffered no visible injuries. She stated her husband was not attempting to injure her but to get her to follow him.”

But life goes on – Nic’s now back at work on his new movie ‘Medallion,’ and attended his son, Weston’s, wedding last Sunday.
