Jerry Seinfeld and Donald Trump feud over Obama birther claims

[HMG Celebrity News] – Donald Trump’s comments about President Obama’s right to run this country have upset many people, and among them is Jerry Seinfeld. Jerry was booked for a charity show run by Trump’s son but because of the fuss he’s pulled out.

In January the 56-year old comedian agreed to appear at a benefit for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at Trump’s lavish golf club in Briarcliff Manor, New York. It’s due to be hosted by Don’s son, Eric on September 13. But because of his dad’s remarks about Mr. Obama Jerry quit, and now the Donald is peeved;

“I just learned you canceled a show for my son’s charity,” Trump says in a letter to Jerry, “because I am being aggressive with respect to President Obama, who is doing a terrible job as our leader.”

The Donald then reminds Jerry he appeared on Seinfeld’s reality flop ‘The Marriage Ref’ last year and expected the favor to be returned.

“We don’t care you broke your commitment,” he writes, “What I do feel badly about is I did your failed show, even though it was terrible. I didn’t cancel on you like you canceled on my son and St. Jude. I only wish I did.”

And the caustic communique ends with a final rebuke – “You should be ashamed of yourself!”

The deal with Jerry was signed before Trump’s endless flaming of Mr. Obama to drum up his own presidential plans started, and these actions are why Jerry has now lost all interest in working with the billionaire boss.

“Jerry has grown increasingly unhappy with Trump’s questioning of Obama’s citizenship,“ a Seinfeld rep told the Post. “He feels this kind of demagoguery has no place in public discourse. He’s now withdrawn from the event, but is making a contribution to Eric’s Foundation and St. Jude.”

And in a move that should shock almost no-one, Apprentice alumnus Bret Michaels is now booked to take Jerry’s slot.
