‘Dilbert’ creator, Scott Adams outed as ‘Planned Chaos’ troll on message boards
[HMG Celebrity News] – In the 21 years since Dilbert began poking fun at the corporate world his creator, Scott Adams has received countless awards. But his methods of dealing with critics have now brought him trouble.
Last week, members of the online community blog ‘Meta Filter’ began a heated debate which called both Scott’s IQ and his parentage into question. But one user ‘Planned Chaos’ sprang to Adams’ defense with postings like;
“He has a certified genius IQ!” and, “Is it Adams’ enormous success that makes you so jealous and angry?” And even; “It’s fair to say you disagree with Adams, but you can’t rule out the idea you’re too dumb to understand what he’s saying.”
This week it was revealed that ‘Planned Chaos’ was Scott.
Adams has since published a lengthy Q&A session with ‘Chaos,’ but it shows little sign of remorse;
“According to the wise and fair denizens of the Internet, this behavior is proof that I’m a thin-skinned troll, an Egomaniac, a Misogynist,” he writes. “But keep in mind I was starting from a pretty low base, so I think my reputation is trending up.”
He goes on to say the self-serving postings were not meant to offend, it was just his way of making a point without losing valuable readers. But not everyone’s convinced.
“Anyone can be anyone on the Internet,” Mary Williams of Salon responds. “But when someone deliberately misrepresents himself or lies about who he is it’s a profound statement of cynicism and contempt for his readers.”
Personally, I’d say she’s got that about right. Dilbert is funny, but deriding the very people who made you successful simply because their view of your work is not as an unerringly kind as your own is both absurd and ungrateful.
What do you guys all think?…

Sorry, but in the right context, this is VERY funny and very cool in its own right.Hollywood gossip works when people take themselves seriously while being ‘human’. SO outing yourself and making fun of yourself in that venue may not be funny to some.
But to others it is bloody brilliant.
