Tiffany and Debbie Gibson announce joint retro tour

[HMG Celebrity News] – The 80‘s was a decade of strange people, bad music and even worse hair, and now two of its stars want to prove that – Tiffany and Debbie Gibson are going back on the road.

“We want to journey through the ’80s and all the artists who influenced us,” Tiffany told the Post.

Bitter rivals in their prime the two girls are now mulling a tour that will showcase their own hits, plus covers of songs by talented people like Stevie Nicks, Reba McIntyre and even Guns N’ Roses.

They’ve also promised a few Broadway tunes just in case that list didn’t cause enough pain.

Now 39, Tiffany achieved overnight stardom in 1987 with her first single ‘I Think We’re Alone Now.’ But her parents and manager disagreed on her future and her fame basically ended in a court room in 1989. Two comeback attempts and a Playboy shoot later she’s now back on stage.

Meanwhile 40-year old Debbie found success in 1987 with songs like ‘Lost in Your Eyes.’ She later moved into Broadway and has even co-starred with Tiffany in one of the most teeth-grindingly bad films you could ever endure – ’Mega Python vs. Gatoroid,’ which aired back in January on SyFy channel.

There are no dates or locations for their new tour, but Tiffany’s last tour was in 1987 – and that was all shopping malls. So I doubt if Carnegie Hall needs to start erecting the crowd barriers just yet.

If you guys remember this pair, would you go see them on tour? Nostalgia’s big business but is this just a case of being too hopeful, too late? Let’s hear what you think…
