(HMG Celebrity News) – It’s been a busy week for the upcoming big screen reboot of the late 80′s/early 90′s TV cop series, “21 Jump Street, which brings back to life Johnny Depp’s breakout role as a cop who infiltrates schools, posing as a student, to breakup drug rings.  Channing Tatum and a slimmed down Jonah Hill play the young cops in the reboot film.

The film is close to casting Rob Riggle as its main villain, a drug dealer posing as a concerned father.  And now the actor, brother of Oscar-nominee James Franco has been cast.  According to Deadline, Dave Franco, 26, will play Eric, the most popular kid in high school and a massive drug dealer.  It’s another big break for Dave Franco who’s biggest credits have come on TV; he played a medical intern in the final season of “Scrubs,” and had a guest arc on the ABC Family college show, “Greek.” He’s also appeared in bit parts in some of his brothers films, including “Milk” and “Pineapple Express.” Franco is currently filming “Friday Night,” a comedy vampire film starring Colin Farrell.
