(HMG Celebrity News) – Bristol Palin who became famous when she got pregnant at age 18 by her now ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston during her mother Sarah Palin’s 2008 run as Vice President is taking some heat for the money she makes being an Abstinence Ambassador.

In 2009, the now 20-year-old single mother joined a teen pregnancy prevention nonprofit called the Candie’s Foundation.

E! Online is reporting that  Bristol was paid $262,000 for her work with teen pregnancy prevention. The amount came from a Candie’s Foundation tax form filed in 2009.   But a closer examination of the tax form by ThinkProgress shows that the group disbursed only $35,000 in grants to actual teen pregnancy health and counseling clinics.

A source close to Bristol defended the huge pay and told E! that the amount received was highly justifiable and “not out of the ordinary for a celebrity. But because it’s Bristol it makes news.”  The source concluded by saying that the information on the money was leaked by an “anti-Palin organization.”
