[HMG Celebrity News] – While the recent marriage of Reese Witherspoon might make some celebrities consider a similar move, Jessica Simpson is not among them. She and Eric Johnson got engaged in November but have no plans to wed;

“No date has been set,” she tells Us: “We’ve both been married before. We’re enjoying our commitment and want to take our time.”

Simpson dated the 33-year old Yale graduate for less than six months before he asked her to marry him. But if they ever do reach an alter she intends to be fully involved;

“I’ll be part of designing my own wedding gown,” she confirms. “We might even elope if it gets to that point.”

The reporters then asked how the couple first met?

“He was out with some of my friends and one said ‘You should come back to Jessica’s house,’” she explains. “He came to the door and said said he was coming to hang out.”

And the connection was so apparently instant he’s been there ever since;

“I haven’t let him leave the house!” says Simpson, laughing. “We got engaged at the house. It’s one of those rare stories.”

So does Eric have any plans to get into the whole ‘Hollywood’ thing, she was asked?

“No,” says Jessica firmly. “Eric’s a great guy. He’s taking art classes at UCLA; He’s very artistic. It’s nice to have an artistic athlete, you don’t find that too much.”

And they manage to keep the pressures of his college schedule and Jessica’s work under control;

“We’re very relaxed,” she admits. “It takes a lot to get us stressed out. We talk about everything. You’ll see him off in the corner and what’s he doing? He’s meditating.”

The couple recently shared a trip to London and Paris, but life at home still sounds quite undemanding;

“In my downtime I’m catching up on TV shows,” says Simpson. “Eric is really into art and so am I. We’ve been watching a lot of documentaries, going to art galleries and hanging out with some cool artists.”

But while home is their haven they’re rarely alone;

“My house is a revolving door,“ she tells the reporters. “I like to stay home with friends and cook, or we all order in. I have at least five people over all the time.”

So here we see the first strains of the overture to yet another celebrity marriage. Do you think Jessica and Eric should marry, or is her bad luck with Tony Romo a strong reason to avoid that mistake? Leave a note in the comments and let’s hear your views…
