Lindsay Lohan announces name-change, but may have to be content with prison number?
[HMG Celebrity News] – When the world truly loves and admires you, you’re known by one name – Brando, Garbo, Cher, Madonna, Rihanna….And in further proof of her latest delusion Lindsay Lohan has decided to join that elite. She’s dropping Lohan from her name.
“Lindsay is dropping the Lohan and just going by Lindsay,” Dina Lohan tells PopEater. “Plus, Ali and I will be changing our last names back to my maiden name, Sullivan.”
As Ali was born while Momma L was still married to Michael, her name’s always been Lohan, and you can’t change back to what you’ve never been. But logic clearly has no role in this project so we’ll move on…
Momma Lohan [for now] says Lindsay has wanted to drop her last name for some time, and the infamous E-trade commercial about a baby called Lindsay persuaded her she didn’t need it. So the name is now set for pruning.
“Many of the greatest people in showbiz are known by their first name; Now you can add Lindsay to that list,” a family friend gushes. “And it’s a way to start over – No-one in the family wants anything to do with Michael Lohan anymore, and that includes sharing a last name.”
Whether Michael Lohan is saddened by this decision to sever the family branch is not yet clear – he didn’t respond to requests for a comment by press time (but you know he will).
But the legal system could save the artist formerly known as “Oh god, not her!” from the trouble – Reports say the LAPD are resuming their investigations into the alleged assault on a Betty Ford nurse.
Sources close to the case say officers at the Riverside County DA’s Office have met witnesses of the alleged assault on December 12, 2010 when Lindsay reportedly attacked Dawn Holland. The sources say the D.A is still mulling whether to pursue to case or discard it. If he proceeds Lindsay would face criminal assault charges.
The resumed inquiries apparently focus on whether Dawn or Lindsay was the aggressor, whether the witnesses could describe any injuries Holland suffered, and whether they would cooperate with police if the case goes to trial. The police have had no firm answers so far.
So, guys – what do you think – Does Lindsay deserve just one name, or will she now face a trial and just get a number? Let’s hear your views…
