(HMG Celebrity News) – Elizabeth Taylor who always knew how to make an entrance, made sure she was fashionably late in her final starring role. Taylor’s burial service began 15 minutes behind schedule, by her own request, as pallbearers carried out the Cleopatra star in a casket “draped with gardenias, violets, and lily of the valley.”

“She even wanted to be late for her own funeral,” a family rep said. She was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, at a private ceremony attended by family and friends. The multi-denominational service, officiated by Rabbi Jerry Cutler at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif., lasted about an hour. The ceremony included poetry readings lead off by close friend Colin Farrell, who reciting Gerard Manley Hopkins’ poem The Leaden Echo and the Golden Echo.  Taylor’s son Michael Wilding, her grandson Tarquin Wilding, and her daughter Liza Burton Tivey also gave readings. Afterward grandson Rhys Tivey performed a heartfelt trumpet solo of Amazing Grace. Taylor, who died Wednesday at age 79, was interred at the Great Mausoleum, the same place as her longtime friend Michael Jackson.
