Lindsay Lohan is going to roll the dice on a court trial

(HMG Celebrity News) – Whether it’s her belief she didn’t do anything wrong or her fear of jail, Lindsay Lohan has reportedly decided not to accept the plea deal and instead go to trial in the grand theft case.  TMZ reports Lindsay met with her lawyer, Shawn Holley Tuesday afternoon and the options were laid out for her to choose.  The case will now be assigned to Judge Stephanie Sautner and the preliminary hearing is set for April 22. Lindsay is rolling the dice because she could be thrown in jail for a probation violation before her grand theft trial, and end up serving more time than had she accepted the plea deal.  On the other hand If Lindsay had accepted a plea deal, she would have been placed on 3 years probation, a virtual eternity for her to stay out of trouble.  As TMZ points out Judge Sautner could decide NOT to rule on the probation violation until a verdict is reached in the grand theft case, so Lindsay could end up getting off scot-free.  Even though the wheels of justice seem to turn that much slower for the privileged with her alleged kleptomania and addictions, not to mention her habit of frequenting bars when she is trying to stay sober, it just seems a matter of time before Lindsay is back in prison however this latest episode of trouble turns out.
