(HMG Celebrity News) – On the heels of Steve Stifler actor Seann William Scott, announcing he is in rehab, Universal Pictures let leak it is trying to reunite the cast from its raunchy comedy hit American Pie for a new movie, according to The Wrap.  “Harold & Kumar’s” Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg are writing and directing.  Jason Biggs (Jim), Seann William Scott, and Eugene Levy (Jim’s Dad) have reportedly already signed up to reprise their Pie roles in the silver screen-bound American Reunion, which debuted in 1999. How I Met Your Mother’s Alyson Hannigan (Michelle), Chris Klein (Oz), Mena Suvari (Heather), Thomas Ian Nicholas (Kevin), Tara Reid (Vicky), and Jennifer Coolidge (Stifler’s Mom/Finch’s “Mrs. Robinson”) are also in talks to appear in the film, which is set to begin shooting May 24, Wrap spies say. The tentatively-titled American Reunion, the fourth movie in the series, will be centered around the now-married Jim and Michelle’s first pregnancy and the lives of the now 30-year-old group of friends. Universal is shooting for a late 2012 opening day for American Reunion.
