‘Lost’ star, Matthew Fox signs to play serial killer
[HMG Celebrity News] – Life after a reality show can be a bleak landscape for most actors, but with his role in ‘Lost’ now completed actor Matthew Fox has landed a great role in a movie that could test his fans loyalty.
Best known as Dr. Jack Shepherd after six years in ‘Lost,’ the 44-year old Wyoming native has now signed to play a serial murder in ‘I, Alex Cross,’ reboot of two earlier films. Tyler Perry will take the lead role and Rob Cohen is set to direct. Ed Burns [Entourage] is also on board.
Alex Cross has been the focus of no less than sixteen best-selling books by James Patterson. In this one our hero learns his niece has been murdered and sets out to hunt down the killer. When he learns she was a call-girl in Washington D.C and several of her coworkers have vanished Cross realizes he’s on the trail of a serial killer, and the hunt gets intense.
In a complete switch from ‘Lost,’ Matthew will play the devious psychopath who becomes Alex’s prey.
Morgan Freeman first played Cross in 1997′s ‘Kiss the Girls,’ and a follow-up movie ‘Along Came a Spider’ in 2001. Three major studios are fighting for the chance to make this latest outing, and the distribution deal is also well advanced.
No date is yet set for production but with Matthew involved the public interest will be great, so you can bet the studio that finally bags this will keep us well informed. Do you plan to go see it?….
