Julianne Moore to play Sarah Palin for HBO Movie on John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign
(HMG Celebrity News) – Admittedly not at all a fan of Sarah Palin’s, I would have been happier to have heard Kathy Griffin was going to play her, if they really must make a movie involving her.
But it will be four-time Oscar nominee Julianne Moore tackling the role of Sarah Palin in HBO Films’ Game Change. Still this won’t be a movie the Palin family or her fans will want to see.
The film follows John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign, from his selection of the controversial Alaska governor as his running mate to their ultimate defeat in the general election. No word yet on who will play John McCain, Barack Obama, or Hillary Clinton.
It’s based on the best-selling book Game Change, by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, which depicts Palin as out of her depth and unprepared for the national spotlight. The film is directed by Jay Roach and written by Danny Strong, who previously collaborated on HBO’s Recount.

‘Game Change’ is a trashy, gossip-girl book, so the movie will be even worse. Julianne Moore is much too old to portray vivacious hottie Sarah Palin.
