Ashlee Simpson already over Pete Wentz, spied with new love?

[HMG Celebrity News] – Remember last month when we told you Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were over and she was alone? Yeah, about that; It seems Ms. Simpson already has a new love – and it’s Pete’s best friend, Craig Owens.

The 26-year old actress was spotted at the Beverly Center Mall in Los Angeles early this week – and Craig was wrapped all around her, according to spies;

“They were holding hands in the elevator,” one snitch tells In Touch. “A lot of the time he had his arm around her. They even kissed. It was obvious they were a couple.”

You might think it’s rather soon for a romance, considering Ashley only filed the divorce papers on February 9th, but the new pair have known each other for some time – Craig is one of Pete’s oldest friends, and his band ‘D.R.U.G.S,’ just released their debut album on Pete’s record label, ‘Decaydance.’

Their upcoming spit has hit Pete pretty hard, according to pals. And news that Ashlee’s not only already found love but it’s one of his buds is not helping much;

“He sends her flowers every day, and that’s only the beginning,” says one friend. “He’s even offered to quit his band and let her pursue her career, but so far she hasn’t budged.”

In the divorce papers Ashlee asks for joint legal custody of their two-year old son, Bronx Mowgli, plus sole physical custody and spousal support. During the 33-month marriage she also changed her name to Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, but the divorce papers ask for that to be changed back as well.

So it’s clearly over, but maybe Pete doesn’t get it. Do you think there’s any chance of a sequel or is Craig next in line?…
