Tom Arnolds’ Attempt to Help Charlie Sheen Thwarted by Enabler
(HMG Celebrity News) – This sounds a lot like Britney Spear’s situation before her final meltdown enabled her parents to regain control. Actor Tom Arnold, a former addict who has helped stage interventions for other troubled celebrities, says he approached one of Charlie Sheen’s close friends about getting help for the star. Tom tells The New York Times:
“I went to a person close to him and said, ‘This guy is in serious trouble with serious drugs. We’ve got to help him, And this person flat-out told me to my face, ‘We make a lot of money from him. I can’t be part of it.’ That tells you everything you need to know.”
The Times goes on to say there is a long list of enablers: managers and agents and publicists; a coterie of assistants and party buddies; prostitutes, drug dealers and sex film stars; and the tabloid media, which have fed on Mr. Sheen’s antics for years.
CBS finally shut down production of Two and a Half Men after two years of trying to convince Sheen to seek help, when the star reneged on an agreement to enter rehab. One source says Sheen used his star power to keep any kind of morals provision out of his CBS contract that would allow him to be fired or replaced for bad behavior.
