Gwyneth Paltrow Close to Landing Recording Contract With Atlantic Records
(HMG Celebrity News) - Oscar winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow can do it all. Paltrow, 38, who is married to Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, is reportedly close to signing her own record deal following her starring role as a Western crooner in Country Strong, not to mention her recurring role on Glee, and upstaging The Muppets with Cee-Lo Green at the Grammy Awards. The New York Post reports Paltrow is in “advanced talks” with Atlantic Records. The newspaper quotes a source as saying, “Gwyneth’s agents have been talking to a number of labels about landing her a substantial record deal. Those who have heard the music say it’s country pop.”
“Gwyneth’s agents have been talking to a number of labels about landing her a substantial record deal. Many labels would be reluctant to give a deal to a star whose first priority is film, but in recent weeks there have been discussions with Atlantic. Gwyneth is a very different name for Atlantic, and one who brings a lot of recognition. Those who have heard the music say it’s country pop,” a spy close to discussions whispered in a leak to The New York Post.
Gwyneth recently revealed at the Academy Awards that her ideal singing partner would be none other than good pal Jay-Z.
“I think we’d be a good combination,” she told fashion guru Tim Gunn on the red carpet. “He is a genius – and I’m his biggest fan.”
Paltrow reprises her role as substitute sex ed teacher Holly Holliday on Glee Tuesday night, March 15.

Yes, Gwen. Sing us a song about how hard it was growing up on the farm in Hollywood. That’s authentic. Also, she’s got a solid voice, but there is absolutely nothing soulful or interesting about it. She has the voice of a very good karaoke singer. You know, the type you won’t boo or cringe over, but not the quality of voice that you’d stop talking over to listen to.
