Christine O’Donnell invited to join ratings hungry ‘Dancing with the Stars’

[HMG Celebrity News] – In uplifting news that suggests all future dreams of political office are entirely discarded, Christine O’Donnell took to her Facebook page on Monday to announce she’s been invited on Dancing with the Stars.

“I just got the Official ‘Ask’ from Dancing With The Stars !!” reads the note. “Although I am utterly flattered, my initial thought was to decline, as my 2 year old nephew has more rhythm than me and my two left feet!”

The post drew a lot of attention from her 26,000 closest friends, but the reviews were decidedly mixed;

“One part of me says go for it. Another says don’t because of what the leftists will try to do,” one friend wrote, while another supporter had a less ambiguous view; “Would you really cheapen yourself enough to become a caricature?” they inquired.

The 41-year old former Senate hopeful was prompted to be on the show by Sarah Palin, after Christine wrote glowing reviews of Bristol Palin’s skills on the dance floor last November.

“I just voted for Bristol on DWTS!” she tweeted at the time. “She’s enduring a lot & should be proud. It’s shameful the way she’s being attacked.”

But in one unnerving development, the suits at ABC actually like the idea of a failed politician in ten-yards of sequins trying to look rhythmic;

“Christine is not a bad idea at all,” one exec told the News. “After Kate Gosselin and Cloris Leachman, she would fit right in. Plus, you know they’d make her dance in a witch’s hat and a broomstick.”

But another post sent later on Monday proves even Christine realizes a run on DWTS would be doomed – so she’s writing a book about her doomed run for the Senate instead;

“The Facebook comments list great pros and cons,” she tweeted. “Thank you for your input. Still undecided. Book comes first.”

Meanwhile, an ABC rep says the show’s producers don’t comment on casting rumors [which they probably started,] but the official cast for next season will be announced sometime next week.
