(HMG Celebrity News) – Another maladjusted childhood star?  Frankie Muniz, who won an Emmy nomination for his portrayal on the FOX comedy Malcolm in the Middle, reportedly had an “intense” fight with his girlfriend Elycia Turnbow, in Phoeniz, AZ last Friday over “prior relationships,”, during which the actor allegedly “grabbed a gun and held it to his head, possibly with the intent of committing suicide,” Turnbow told police, according to a report obtained by TMZ this week.

The actor was reportedly taken to the hospital by a band mate and then later returned home where he and Turnbow began to argue again. The report states that Muniz then “punched” Turnbow “in the back of the head and threw her into a wall.” The police report notes that Turnbow “did not have any visible signs of injuries.”

Muniz however says that he was taken to the hospital after falling and hitting his head as a result of Turnbow screaming at him. He denied holding a gun to his head, but does acknowledge “I grabbed the case, but not the gun… it isn’t even loaded.”

Frankie also denies punching Turnbow in the report saying, “No. I love her too much. She is the woman I want to marry.” The police then found and impounded a loaded gun.  Frankie also says that Turnbow woke him by “yelling at him and hitting him in the face,” before she supposedly fell to the ground and kicked the bedroom door.

Frankie, who retired from acting to become a professional racecar driver several years ago, tried to clear things up in a press statement this evening. Though Muniz does own a registered handgun, his spokesperson denies the weapon played any role in his spat with the Missus.

“Frankie and Elycia had an argument a few days ago. The police were called to the residence,” his rep argued in a counter statement. “A gun played no part in the argument and was voluntarily given to the police for safekeeping. There were no bruises and neither left the residence. He was not suicidal. She was not assaulted.”

Frankie’s rep adds that the couple is still together and are “moving forward with their lives and with their relationship.”

Frankie  now lives in Arizona and performs with the band You Hang Up where he plays drums, though did made a brief return with voice work in the 2010 animated feature “The Legend of Secret Pass.”
