Billy Ray Cyrus Very Worried About Miley and Regrets Her Ever Doing Hannah Montana Show

(HMG Celebrity News) – Now 18, and still so eager to show she is no Disney girl anymore, Miley Cyrus arrived at the 2011 Pre-GRAMMY Gala, in quite the racy dress above.  Daddy Billy Ray Cyrus says in a blistering interview in March’s GQ Magazine his daughter Miley Cyrus‘ massive success as Disney darling Hannah Montana led to the destruction of his personal life.

“I’ll tell you right now — the damn show destroyed my family.”

he adds he wishes “Hannah Montana” never happened.

“I hate to say it, but yes, I do. I’d take it back in a second,” said Cyrus.

In a very revealing yet troubling interview, Billy Ray who in the middle of a divorce from Miley’s mom Tish, to whom he’s been married for 18 years, talked about his daughter’s frequent outlandish behavior, but says that he’s been helpless to control it. Even if he’s getting blamed!  While he admits to being too much of a friend to Miley — and as a result, not being a better parent, Billy Ray says he often was cut out the process — told that it not his business, and  bemoaned the fact that he’d get pinned with the slipup, anyway — they let him “take the bullet.”

He tells GQ: “Every time the train went off the track … her people, or as they say in today’s news, her handlers, every time they’d put [the blame on] me … I took it because I’m her daddy … OK, nail me to the cross.

“I should have been a better parent. I should have said, ‘Enough is enough — it’s getting dangerous and somebody’s going to get hurt.’ I should have, but I didn’t. Honestly, I didn’t know the ball was out of bounds until it was way up in the stands somewhere.”

“I’m scared for her. She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger,” he said.  But so worried about the path his daughter is taking, he even cites his late friend Kurt Cobain,  as well as Anna Nicole Smith, and Michael Jackson, as ultimate examples that he hopes she’ll avoid following.

Billy Ray’s interview, which features actor Channing Tatum on the cover, hits newsstands on Feb. 22.
