Lindsay Lohan’s supposed alibi in necklace theft seems woefully thin

(HMG Celebrity News) – Once again Lindsay Lohan is on the brink of facing more jail-time and while it really is tragic, one also wonders whether the trappings of her privileged life will also be her salvation. Lindsay has demonstrated over and over that she was raised ill equipped to be an independent adult, and while her Hollywood teen resume was once impressive, her adult resume of addictions and irresponsibility have put her future in doubt.

Lindsay is back in a familiar place having been accused in the past of stealing a fur coat and jewelry before. She was never prosecuted on those accusations but this stealing an expensive necklace thing looks like a much tougher spot.

Lindsay was caught on film and camera wearing the one of a kind $2,500 necklace, that the owner of Kamofie & Company said she walked off with. On a side note it is alarming to me, that somehow Lindsay got wind that a search warrant was going to be issued to look for the necklace at her home, so she sent her stylist to return the item, before she was caught red-handed. Lindsay’s defense will apparently be built on, that the owner told her that she could take the bling on loan. The fact that there’s no audio is Lindsay’s best hope to avoid prosecution, reports TMZ.  Because supposedly it’s basically a he-said, she-said situation at this point, because Lindsay went to the store often enough that the jewelry storeowner knew where she lived. If he really suspected her of stealing the necklace, he would know exactly where to find it, TMZ reasons. But I don’t buy it. If you suspect someone has stolen something from your store you call the police. Also I think the burden of proof is for Lindsay to prove that the storeowner gave her permission to borrow the necklace, not the other way around. I really just hope justice prevails and if Lindsay is somehow innocent this time awesome. But the trend of one near legal disaster after another doesn’t bode well for her future.
