(HMG Celebrity News) – As Steve Carell prepares to bid farewell to his character Michael Scott, and the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin, it’s been announced that his Anchorman and Bewitched co-star is joining the cast.  According to Deadline Hollywood, Will Ferrell has signed on for a four-episode story arc, with one of episodes going beyond Carell’s finale in early May, to help create a bridge.”  Ferrell will play a Dunder Mifflin branch manager from the home office who, according to NBC, is “just as inappropriate” as Steve Carell’s Michael Scott character.  Ferrell, who’s a big fan of ‘The Office,’ apparently contacted the producers to offer his services as a way of commemorating his good buddy Carell’s departure.  As The Office is pulling out all the stops, Ricky Gervais is set to reprise his role as UK Office manager David Brent at beginning of this week’s episode.
