Michael Jackson’s mamma paints MJ’s lawyers as overfed sharks
[HMG Celebrity News] – Since the death of Michael Jackson in June of ’09, lawyers for his estate have filed dozens of lawsuits to stop other people profiteering. But Michael’s mother, Katherine Jackson claims the lawyers file most of these suits just to profit themselves.
“All these lawyers that are involved in Michael’s business since he passed – and there’s a lot of them – I think they’re trying to create different lawsuits because they’re greedy and they want to get paid,” she tells TMZ.
As one example the Estate’s legal reps are suing Katherine’s business partner, Howard Mann for allegedly profiting from Jackson’s name and image without their permission, and Katherine takes that claim personally.
“When they’re suing Howard Mann, they’re suing me,” she recently told ABC News.
In the lawsuit, filed last Thursday, the Estate claims Howard violated copyright, trademark and piracy laws by selling numerous items relating to Jackson, most of which included unlicensed images.
It does not even name Katherine as a defendant.
“We had hoped Mr. Mann would voluntarily cease, but that was not to be,” explains Estate lawyer Howard Weitzman. “People who trade off Michael’s personality, copyrights and trademarks should not be allowed to exploit the legacy of one of the world’s most recognized talents for their own benefit.”
Meantime the war of silence between Katherine and Dr. Conrad Murray, the man accused of contributing to her son’s death, is still in effect. Dr. Murray was arraigned in an LA court yesterday on one count of involuntary manslaughter. And while Mamma Jackson says she “can’t stand” him, she attends all the hearings because she loved her late son.
The 57-year old doctor pleaded not guilty to the charge and the case was adjourned. His medical license is already suspended, and if he’s found guilty he would lose it completely and could also spend up to four years in jail.

Keep the faith for God knows how much she and the family can bear. Soon hopefully the family and all the fans will be able to rest knowing he left a great legacy behind.

Right. Because that’s not what Sony did with the late singer’s unfinished songs.
The difference is with Howard Mann and others is that he owns the rights to do this in which the others do not. Mrs. Jackson and Michae’ls children get these proceeds to fight those that have taken over her sons Estate that was rightfully to be the children’s legacy that Michael left for them not those greedy money grabbing executors and lawyers who hi-jacked it from the family with a Will that was supposed to be turned over to Michael’s new attorneys. Michael had a new will in 2004 and only a copy exists and the original cannot be found and John Branca is not named in that will.
I believe if the money was left to the family at free will, there will be nothing left for MJ’s children. the family would go through his money like before michael cut them off. I can’t wait until Paris is old enough to take over her fathers estate, like lisa marie did elvis.
Looks like the estate lawyers have something to hide by going after Howard Mann, who has Katherine and Michael’s children on his side… and they ARE the Estate.
