Alec Baldwin to Replace Keith Olbermann?

(HMG Celebrity News) – While Bill O’Reilly typically marked the departure of rival Keith Olbermann from MSNBC Countdown, without saying his name, there is already intriguing rumors of who might take his place. Sources tell PopEater that MSNBC is considering Alec Baldwin to fill the large shoes of Keith Olbermann, who abruptly announced his resignation Friday. Baldwin has long expressed an interest in entering politics, and, as a star on 30 Rock, is “already part of the NBC family, has a huge fanbase and is very respected for his long-term passions for politics,” sources say. “He’s brilliant on camera and honestly cares about news and fighting for the rights of everyday people. Don’t count him out.”

Reps for Baldwin have not commented on the story and I am skeptical he would do it, but it would be awesome if he did.

The Popeater insider added: “There was a time when everyone said Alec would never do a sitcom, only movies. Those same people are saying he would never run for office or host a political show.”
