Clint Eastwood to Direct Remake of ‘A Star Is Born’ Starring Beyonce
(HMG Celebrity News) – Actor Clint Eastwood spent a lot of his early acting career typecast as a tough guy, but as a director there are no bounds to his versatility. Going back to his musical roots (Paint Your Wagon, Honkytonk Man, Bird), Eastwood who has been doing his own scores lately for many of his movies, has signed up to direct a musical remake of a “A Star Is Born,” with Beyonce Knowles attached to portray the main female character, according to Deadline Hollywood. He additionally will produce the musical along with Billy Gerber, Basil Iwanyk and Jon Peters, who made the third version of “A Star Is Born.” The film written by newcomer Will Fetters this time, has been done three times before: in 1937 by William Wellman with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March; in 1954, directed by George Cukor with James Mason and Judy Garland and then again in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. Deadline says, shooting is expected to start in fall but no male lead is cast yet, though Will Smith while Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Hamm have been mentioned as the possible lead actor.








This could be a good choice. I’m interested in seeing his take on the film.
