Ben Stiller Confirms ‘Zoolander 2′: Movie Script Ready

(HMG Celebrity News) – New daddy Owen Wilson  spoke with Cinemablend, last month while promoting his new film, ‘Little Fockers,’ and gave hope that the long awaited sequel to his and ‘Fockers’ co-star Ben Stiller’s cult comedy hit ‘Zoolander,’  was in the works.

“I just saw him now and we’re talking about doing another Zoolander movie,” Wilson said of Stiller, who was at the same New York hotel to do the press junket. “I think so. I think there’s a really good script and I think we’re going to do it.”

Now in an interview with Empire Magazine via Huffington Post, Ben Stiller has confirmed he and and co-writer Justin Theroux, have finished and submitted the ‘Zoolander 2′ script and gives some hints as to what’s happened to the characters since the first  2001 film.

“It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe,” Stiller revealed. “I don’t want to give away too much, but it’s basically Derek [Stiller's character] and Hansel [Wilson's] ten years later – though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime.  Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore,” Stiller told Empire, “It’s a new world for them.”

Sounds like the guys have since hit some bad times but perhaps they will come together to fight their old enemy:

“Will Ferrell is written into the script and he’s expressed interest in doing it. I think Mugatu is an integral part of the Zoolander story, so yes, he features in a big way.”
