[HMG Celebrity News] – If you like stories about ghosts and demonic possessions we have a show that is right in your field – the Discovery Channel has now teamed with the Vatican to create ‘The Exorcist Files.’ a new show about the most awesome, fearsome spirits of all – Demons.

Due to debut in the Spring the new series will recreate real-life stories of hauntings and demonic possession, based on the Vatican’s previously secret files of real cases examined by the Catholic Church. It will also feature interviews with the Church’s top exorcists, who are rarely allowed to appear on TV.

“The Vatican is an extraordinarily hard place to obtain access,” Discovery’s president, Clark Bunting tells EW. “But we explained we’re not going to try to tell people what to think.”

According to Clark, the Church’s investigators believe demons can even inhabit inanimate objects, like a home. And their passion for the work and their boundless conviction convinced him this was a series that had to get made.

“The work these folks do, and their conviction in their beliefs make for fascinating stories,” he says.

The plan is to make one season, and if the ratings are strong season two would follow investigators as they attempted live demonic evictions on national TV.

And there’s more: Discovery also have plans for another new series that sounds worth the time – ‘Disappeared’ will test whether it’s really possible to ‘go off-the-grid’ and vanish without trace. Contestants will ditch their identities and can then hide anywhere in the world, while an elite team of trackers hunts them down.

‘The Exorcist Files’ has no exact date for its debut, and ‘Disappeared’ is still in development and may never even be made. But which show would you watch – and why?…
