[HMG Celebrity News] – Those who can endure reality shows will know Amber Portwood from MTV’s ‘Teen Mom’ was in court at Thanksgiving, and spent the last month in jail. Well, now she’s out and trying to spin the assault on her boyfriend that put her in jail like it’s MTV’s fault.

The 20-year old walked free from Madison County jail in Indiana on December 28, and her first act of freedom was to sell the ‘harrowing’ story to a suitably gullible tabloid.

“I just can’t even imagine not seeing my little baby if I go back to jail,” she told Life & Style. “It scares me so bad.”

But a return is a real possibility – Amber is facing two counts of domestic battery, one count of neglect of a dependent [her 2-year old daughter, Leah.] and one charge of domestic battery for beating Leah’s father, Gary Shirley, during an episode of the MTV show.

Were she found guilty she could serve three years in prison and face a $10,000 fine. And this brand of reality has her doubting whether she should have been quite so keen to grab the $280,000 a year she gets for doing the show.

“I wouldn’t have been in jail because nobody would have known about it,” she whined at the scribes.

It’s also quite likely she would have not been in jail if she just hadn’t done it. But her family seem keen to support and enable Amber’s curious viewpoint;

“Before that scene of her hitting Gary aired, she didn’t have problems,” her brother Shawn Portwood tells the magazine. “I can’t say it’s the show’s fault because my sister did it. But Amber and Gary asked them not to air the fight because they knew this would happen. Now my sister gets death threats, and my niece’s life is in turmoil.”

The date of her trial is not yet decided, but on current evidence you could expect lots more self-serving spin before she finally faces the results of her acts.

So do you believe the court case was MTV’s fault or hers? Let’s hear your views in the comments…
