Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp are confirmed to be dating

(HMG Celebrity News) – A couple days ago we mentioned that Meg Ryan is reportedly providing a leaning shoulder for about to be single John Mellencamp.  News broke over Christmas that the Indiana rocker was splitting with wife Elaine Irwin after 18 years of marriage.  The report said that Mellencamp and Ryan were spotted walking arm-in-arm in NYC’s TriBeCa in October, and that Ryan has dropped in backstage at a few of Mellencamp’s shows. Mellencamp said he was working on a musical, “Ghost Brothers of Darkling County,” and that Ryan was one of the actors.  A People Magazine source close to Ryan, 49, now says the actress and the rock star, 59, began dating about seven weeks ago, and that Mellencamp and his wife had been separated for some time before that.
