Sir Elton John and Partner Have Baby Boy Via Surrogate

(HMG Celebrity News) – Sir Elton John and his partner David Furnish got quite the Christmas present this year.  The two became parents to son Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, born Dec. 25 in California via a surrogate, weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces.  This is the first child for Sir John, 62, and Furnish, 48. The couple got married in 2005 after being together for 12 years.

In a joint statement to Us Magazine, the couple said they will not be discussing any details relating to the surrogacy arrangements but did say: “We are overwhelmed with happiness and joy at this very special moment. Zachary is healthy and doing really well, and we are very proud and happy parents.”

Sir Elton has tried adopting in the past, but was denied a 14-month-old HIV-positive child from Ukraine because the pop star was considered too old and not married.
