Thor’s Idris Elba the focus of bigoted boycott
[HMG Celebrity News] – Films have inspired people to do many odd things, but a white supremacist group is now demanding a boycott of the new movie, ‘Thor’ because one actor’s the wrong color for the part.
The loose assemblage of wannabe rocket scientists behind this petition call themselves the ‘Council of Conservative Citizens’ and have called for a boycott of Marvel’s film adaptation because the producers chose to cast British actor Idris Elba as the Norse god Heimdall, whom the Council says was white in the comics.
And Idris is currently black.
“It’s not enough that Marvel attacks conservatives values, now mythological Gods must be re-invented with black skin,” they complain on their web site. “It seems Marvel Studios believes white people should have nothing that is unique to themselves.”
They go on to insist that America is part of Europe and Americans should therefore “remain European in their composition and character.” They then belittle Marvel’s depiction of the character by comparing drawings of Heimdall in classic literature with Marvel’s version from 1960′s-era comics.
Marvel’s version shows Heimdall with dark skin.
As for Idris, the 38-year old actor seems to be handling the opposition quite well.
“Thor’s mythical, right?” Ace quotes him as saying. “He has a hammer that flies to him when he clicks his fingers. That’s OK, but the color of my skin is wrong?”
The $150-million movie tells the story of the arrogant warrior, Thor [Chris Hemsworth] who is expelled from Asgard, the home of the Norse gods, and sent to live amongst humans. Heimdall then tries to invade Earth and Thor is their greatest defender. It’s due out on May 6 of next year.
What’s your opinion – Did Marvel cast the right guy? And will you boycott the film if they didn’t?…

If they had made a movie based on African mythology, and cast white people as characters from that mythology the movie company would have been widely condemned and probably drummed out of Hollywood.
Certainly nobody here would defend it by arguing “He was cast on the basis of talent not skin colour”
I think people would do well to reflect on their own prejudices before condemning those of others.
It’s about respect for the Norse religion, people, culture, ect. You anti-White Zoglings better wake up if you have any decency. Go ahead and research “jewish supremacy” yourself, there’s a reason for this filth and it’s not some negro actors doing. Believe you me, White’s aren’t the bigots here.
