Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson Appear Heading Toward Divorce (Update)

(HMG Celebrity News) – Following many whispers that their relationship was just not working out, TMZ is reporting Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have amiably separated. There doesn’t seem to be any dark reasons for the split (though I am sure some tabloid will make something up by tomorrow) but with both having such hot careers their busy schedules have mostly kept them apart, since marrying in September, 2008. Word has been they both were unwilling to sacrifice and cut back on their schedules to spend more time together and it now looks to have killed their marriage.

Update: According to a People source, the couple quietly split six months ago, and Johansson initiated the move.  They have now released a joint statement:

“After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage.  We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
