[HMG Celebrity News] – On this morning’s edition of ABC’s hit show, ‘The View’ former host Lisa Ling shared the sad news that she is now among that mercifully small group of women who have endured a miscarriage.

The 37-year old, who quit the show in the Spring of ’03 to resume her former career as a reporter said she lost the baby six months ago when doctors told her the child had no heartbeat.

“I felt more like a failure than I’d felt in a very long time,” Ling told her former co-hosts.

She also admitted she’d been quite cavalier among her girlfriends, about getting pregnant without really trying;

“We actually hadn’t been trying that long,” she admitted. “I don’t know if I took it as seriously as I should have because it happened so fast. But when I heard the doctor say there was no heartbeat it was like a knife through the heart.”

Lisa then told Barbara and the team that fear of the same thing happening again has made her and her husband, the oncologist Paul Song scared to even try for another child until now. But she’d decided to share her experience to break the stigma of talking about the whole issue.

As part of her campaign to remove this taboo she’s even started a web site called ‘SecretSocietyOfWomen.com‘ so those who endured the same painful event can share their personal stories.

If anyone caught the show, what did you think?…
