Taylor Momsen benched by Gossip Girl, on ‘indefinite hiatus’

[HMG Celebrity News] – After a season filled with brattish behavior off-screen, the suits in charge of ‘Gossip Girl’ have confirmed that Taylor Momsen will be a rare sight on the show for the rest of the season.

Despite appearing in only three episodes so far this fall 17-year old Momsen is still listed on the show’s credits. But that’s due to change; Starting with next Monday’s episode she begins an ‘indefinite hiatus’ according to sources at Warners, and will miss at least four episodes, including the season finale on December 6.

This may sound drastic, but considering her poor taste in wardrobe and expletive-filled outbursts against stars with an actual career, like Miley Cyrus it’s quite predictable that Warners should pull in the reins.

Among those upset by Momsen’s egocentric behavior was Project Runway’s Tim Gunn, who appeared as Jenny’s mentor in one episode last month and makes no secret of his distaste for her unprofessional attitude.

“What a diva,” he told Deadline. “She was pathetic. She couldn’t remember her lines, and she didn’t even have that many. I thought to myself, ‘Why are we being held hostage by this brat?’”

But ’17th Street Productions,’ who make the show are already trying to put some PR spin on Taylor’s absence, claiming that her [sadly short-lived] departure was required “for strictly creative reasons.’

Yeah, right.
