Prince William and Kate Middleton Are Officially Engaged

(HMG Celebrity New) – After many false rumors, royal officials have announced Prince William and girlfriend Kate Middleton are now engaged to be married.

Prince Charles’ Clarence House office says the heir to the throne is “delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.”

The palace says William proposed in October, during a vacation in Kenya, after asking Kate’s father for his daughter’s hand.

Both are 28 and met while students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.  William and Kate, who have been a couple on and off for eight years now, are due to marry next spring or summer in London.  The wedding is widely expected to be the most lavish gala since William’s father, Prince Charles married his mother, Lady Diana Spencer.  Following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force, as a search and rescue pilot.
