Oksana Grigorieva claims she recorded Mel Gibson for proof if he killed her
[HMG Celebrity News] – In her ongoing quest to win public opinion while avoiding the courts, Oksana Grigorieva has now told Larry King she made the infamous tapes of Mel Gibson because she thought she was going to die.
In an interview with the 76-year old CNN legend that’s due to air tomorrow night, Grigorieva tells Larry she recorded Mel’s ranting and alleged threats because she felt sure Mel would kill her, and she wanted her mom to have proof of the killer.
“I started taping it around 11 o’clock because I thought I’m actually not going to live through the night,’ the former musician tells King. “I wanted my mother to be able to prove that if I’m dead, this is who did it.”
Larry then asked if Mel was ever driven to anger by booze?
“There was no liquor, not once,” she replies “He never drunk. I mean, one time he drunk when he was away. That’s the only time he drunk. I’ve never ever seen him drinking.”
Predictably keen to press her advantage, Oksana then suggests that Mel is unbalanced and needs medical help.
“That’s why I keep saying on those tapes, ‘you need medication,’” she tells Larry. “He does need medication for the sake of our daughter. He needs to be treated.”
Advice on exactly what corrective assistance Oksana requires could fill this forum for pages. But we leave it to you – Was she really afraid for her life, or is this just more melodrama to gain traction in court?…

Mel Gibson’s team says, “Look, we have forensic evidence to prove that these tapes were doctored and edited…We have forensic evidence to prove that this woman tried to extort money out of us.”
The problem is that now, we begin to take sides. We say oh, she’s a gold digger, or he’s a raving lunatic, or he’s a violent monster. The problem is that both are possible – that maybe Oksana did decide look, he has hit me or he’s tried to hit me, or he’s abused me verbally, mentally, and emotionally so I’m going to make money out of it. That then diminishes the real cases of women, about 300,000 women a year, who are abused. And I think that’s the greatest danger.
Patrick, I totally agree. I think Oksana has hired and fired more then 40 lawyers and she refuses to follow advisers and in so doing has weakened her case.
I disagree with Patrick’s comment that Oksana is diminishing the chances of other women. In fact, I think she has actually done more to help woman understand how important it is in these types of situations to gather evidence to support their version. Otherwise it becomes her word against his and in this case everyone would have believed Mel and called Oksana a liar. But we have all heard the tapes and Mel did threaten to kill her and laughed and said that she deserved it when he hit her. Because of this he had to make up a reason why he hit her otherwise he would have probably denied it outright. This is all fantastic evidence to demonstrate that he is a domestic abuser. It is a pity her son wasn’t able to use his mobile phone to video record Mel when he was attacking her. Woman have to get smart and gather evidence. I know I did when my neighbour threatened my life and the Police were not taking it seriously until we played the recording on my son’s mobile phone and they saw and heard for themselves exactly how unbalanced and aggressive my neighbour was. What Oksana has done is intelligent and savvy and because of Mel’s inflated sense of entitlement he just didn’t see it coming.
Kathy, Oksana went about this in exactly the wrong way. A woman who is abused should go straight to the police and create a record, not wait until MONTHS after breaking up with the boyfriend to start making accusations. Not to mention that in some states it is illegal to record a person without their knowledge. I think California is one of those states.
