Lindsay Lohan ‘fretting’ upcoming DUI case
[HMG Celebrity News] – While her handlers claim Lindsay Lohan is making ‘remarkable progress’ during her sixth stay in rehab at the Betty Ford center, the treatment team are allegedly worried that the stress of her 2007 DUI arrest is hurting her recovery.
For those who could care less, a recap – On July 24 2007, less than two weeks after her last trip to rehab, the 21-year old Lohan chased Michelle Peck [the mother of her ex assistant,] and Tracie Rice, Peck’s passenger through the streets of Santa Monica in a Chevy Suburban. She was stopped by the local PD, and they found cocaine in her pocket.
LiLo refused a field sobriety test and was promptly escorted to police headquarters and booked on a felony charge of possession, plus DUI, plus driving with a suspended license. She then entered rehab – again – in Utah.
And all this fun happened just two months after her arrest for DUI and possession in Beverly Hills on May 26.
Today, the rehab team are said to be concerned that that LiLo is ‘struggling with anxiety’ caused by the upcoming resolution of the lawsuits brought by four people involved in that infamous night.
Tracie Rice and three men who were in Lindsay’s vehicle are now suing for assault and negligence. There’s a conference to discuss the case next month, and a source tells Radar it “will be likely going to trial next April,” and that it’s “causing Lindsay some anxiety.”
“Lindsay is taking responsibility, but this group won’t be happy until they can drag her name through the mud,” the insider claims. “Her legal team has made settlement offers, but those were rejected.”
Meanwhile, the Betty Ford folks are trying to reduce the anxiety and stress this is said to be causing;
“Her doctors don’t want this to have a negative impact,” the source shares. “If this was anyone else but Lindsay Lohan, this lawsuit never would have been filed.”
That might just be because no-one else would have been driving over the speed limit while falling-down drunk, stoned off their heads and with their license suspended.
But the source has yet more reasons why this is not Lindsay’s fault.
“The fact is, Lindsay has no money,” they claim. “The amount they’re seeking is outrageous. Lindsay could be on the hook for punitive damages, and that’s causing concern. But Lindsay will show up to court when the trial begins, and will do what is asked of her,” we are told.
So do you think Lindsay deserves to be sued, or is this just exploitation because she used to be famous?…
