Is Jawbone Found on Aruban Beach Linked to Natalee Holloway?
(HMG Celebrity News)—-Five years after her disappearance, Dutch investigators are performing analysis on a jawbone reportedly found on the beach in Aruba to determine if it is human, and if so, if it could be connected to the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway, CNN reports.
The bone was apparently found by a tourist, near the Phoenix Hotel, which is an area where Joran Van der Sloot (who was with Natalee on the night she disappeared) had previously referenced, CNN notes. Van der Sloot has been arrested twice during the investigation of Holloway’s disappearance, but has not been charged and maintains his innocence. Van der Sloot is currently in a Peruvian jail awaiting trial on separate murder charges.
After the analysis of the jawbone is complete, Dutch officials will send the information to the prosecutor’s office, which may make the results public. The scientific process should take about a week, CNN reports.
