Will Ferrell named Forbes’ Most Overpaid Actor – again! (Check Out the Top 10)

[HMG Celebrity News] – Actors love awards, but this year’s list of the most overpaid actors, as collected by Forbes Magazine gives top prize to Will Ferrell – and that may not please him; It’s his second win in a row.

The highly reputed magazine compose their annual list of ego-fueled greed by comparing what actors get paid, against what their movies actually earn. And topping the list for the second straight year is poor Will.

Actually, not so poor; The 43-year old charges a minimum of $15-million to make a film. But his last three, ‘Land of the Lost,’ ‘Semi-Pro’ and ‘Step Brothers’ only earned the studios $3.35 for every dollar of that — and in Hollywood that’s bad economics.

Also on Forbes’ list of shame is Matt Damon. The huge success of the ‘Bourne’ films meant 40-year old Matt could demand a very large payday. Then he made 2009′s ‘The Informant’ and the sports film ‘Invictus.’ which almost bombed — earning just $8.30 for every dollar he cost the studios to be there.

But one name that might surprise a few fans is Tom Cruise. Despite the poor box office income from second-rate fare like ‘Valkyrie’ and ‘Knight and Day,’ he still thinks he deserves a king’s ransom for each film. But the reviews say Tom is greatly mistaken. His box-office ratio is now at $7.20 earned, for every dollar he gets paid to make it.

And in Hollywood, that kind of number can kill a career.

The Guardian sums it up well — If you don’t want to be on this list, don’t make endless romantic comedies [like Drew Barrymore,] don’t make films so obtuse you’re the only one who would watch them [like Jim Carrey,] and whatever you do, do not become Eddie Murphy.
