(HMG Celebrity News) – Julien Hug (top left), the son of prominent San Diego restaurateurs Bertrand and Denise Hug, was found dead along a scenic Southern California highway. The 35-year-old man’s body was found near his vehicle at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday in the remote Pinyon Pines area off State Route 74. The county is home to the Joshua Tree National Park and the Coachella Valley National Wildlife Refuge.  Julien who vied for the heart of Jillian Harris on Season 5 of The Bachelorette in 2009, was living near Palm Springs and was on his way to help his family with their new restaurant Augusta Modern in Palm Desert when his cellphone went dead on Monday. His parents also own the high-end restaurant, Mille Fleurs n Rancho Santa Fe, where Julien had been serving as host. After a missing person investigation was launched, a helicopter eventually “located a deceased male in a remote area that was inaccessible to ground personnel.” It took till this morning until Julien’s body could be removed because of the remoteness of the area.
Officials are waiting for the Coroner’s Report to determine cause of death, but tell TMZ they’re handling this as an investigation “where no foul play is suspected.”   Hug was eliminated during Episode 2 of The Bachelorette in May 2009, while Jake Pavelka, who got together with Julien for Habitat for Humanity in photo above, also got shot down by Jillian Harris, later in the season.
