Gary Collins allegedly in another drinking and driving accident

(HMG Celebrity News) – I was very surprised he managed to get off last time and apparently he still has not stopped drinking or have the sense to call a cab.  Former talk show and Miss America host, Gary Collins has a history of DUI busts including a no contest plea to a DUI in 2007 in an accident that resulted in the death of the other driver a few years ago. Collins was not prosecuted for manslaughter, in part because the other driver caused the crash by making an illegal left. Collins is still on probation for that incident.  Then in 2009 police busted Collins again on suspicion of DUI again for allegedly driving a motor home drunk. A subsequently given a blood alcohol test showed, Collins registered a blood-alcohol content of .29, which is almost four times the legal California limit of .08.  Collins would have to down 10 – 12 drinks in an hour to register .29. Never heard whether Collins was ever convicted on that last incident.  This time Collins alleged drinking and driving lead to another accident  in Jackson, Mississippi last night where police tell TMZ that he allegedly struck another car, injuring a woman and her child.

The woman told reportedly told police Gary, got out of his car “clearly intoxicated,” threw his hands up in the air and asked, “What are we waiting for?”  The woman said the police were on the way, but Gary then beat a hasty retreat.  There’s a warrant out for his arrest now, but I am guessing by previous celebrity incidents of this nature it will now be hard to prove Gary was drinking.  And I guess we’ll see on the hit and run or leaving the scene of an accident possibility.  I am always surprised how dangerous drinking and driving types are even allowed to drive again, let alone escape jail time after repeat offenses.
