Christopher Nolan[HMG Celebrity News] – After ‘Batman: The Dark Knight’ grossed over $1-billion worldwide it was clear the movie’s director, Christopher Nolan, would be in charge of the sequel. And now that second chapter has a name ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’

The 40-year old London-born director is still being cagey about details of the next film, due out in 2012. But after acres of blog space and forum discussion about the possible villain, Christopher has confirmed one rumor is false:

“It won’t be the Riddler,” Nolan told the LA Times.

Another decision about the new movie should also bring relief to the last film’s ardent fans — Christopher has persuaded the studio, Warner Bros to resist the current fad for 3D and shoot the movie instead using IMAX cameras and Hi-Def.

And as the title proves, Nolan is intent on keeping his Bruce Wayne trilogy well stitched together.

“We’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones,” Nolan hinted.

The new film will be written by Nolan and his brother, Jonah, and based on a story by Nolan and David Goyer. But who will the villain actually be? Nolan’s not saying.

He’d previously confirmed that the last film’s title ‘The Dark Knight’ referred to Harvey Dent and his fall from grace, but Dent didn’t survive the last film, and Mr. Freeze is also a no-go.

So who’s left to be the bad guy — Can you work it out?…
