Rapper T.I. dodges drug charge in Los Angeles
(HMG Celebrity News) – While Rapper T.I. will still be going to jail, he still managed to dodge a bullet as Los Angeles prosecutors have declined to file a felony drug charge against him stemming from his arrest last month on the Sunset Strip. T.I. (real name: Clifford Harris) and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle were arrested last month in L.A. after cops discovered marijuana in their car. Police in the September bust then found more goodies, and charged the star for possessing ecstasy, testing positive for opiates and associating with a convicted felon. The deputy district attorney in LA who rejected the case cited the sentence and the small amount of drugs found as reasons drug charges aren’t being pursued. According to a charge evaluation worksheet released Monday, deputies found four ecstasy pills on the rapper from Atlanta.
However a couple of weeks ago and days after saving the life of a suicidal man, a federal judge in Georgia ordered the Atlanta native back to prison for 11 months after revoking his probation because of the Los Angeles drug incident above.  T.I., 30, reportedly begged the judge not to send him back to prison, saying he needed to get help for drug addiction. He told the judge he “screwed up” and pleaded for mercy, but to no avail. The multi-platinum rapper left prison this past March after a 10 month stay on federal weapons charges, but is expected to begin his new prison term on Nov. 1. T.I., has won three Grammy Awards, most recently in 2008 for “Swagga Like Us” and has been nominated 12 times.
