Charlie Sheen caught drunk with hooker in NY hotel (Update)

[HMG Celebrity News] – Yesterday came news of a heartwarming story in which volatile ex’s Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen got together in New York for some family time. Denise was promoting “Blue Mountain State,” and decided to tour NYC because the kids had never been. And Charlie had a week off from filming so he tagged along to be with their kids.

Today that happy story took a sinister turn.

Security staff at The Plaza Hotel on Fifth Avenue called Police at around 2am this morning, after a drunk and naked Sheen trashed his suite, authorities tell the Post.

Not only did the cops find the ‘Two and Half Men’ half-naked and passed out on the bed, surrounded by what hotel staff say was about $7,000 in damage, but a woman – since identified as an escort – was discovered naked, screaming and locked in the closet.

“She was fearing for her life and was naked,” one source tells L&S. “Charlie was incoherent but started yelling slurs at the cops. They recognized him immediately and gave him two options; They could take him to the hospital or the station. Charlie chose the hospital.”

Sheen, 45, told police he had been ‘out partying,’ and that on returning with his latest companion he discovered his wallet and cellphone were gone, thus causing him to fly into a rage.

Paramedics were summoned, and at about 2.30am Charlie was escorted to an ambulance outside the hotel for the ride to the hospital, wrapped in just shorts and a robe.

“The paramedics were calling it an overdose,” says the eyewitness. “But he was definitely awake as he made the choice to go there and not jail.”

And all this happened while Denise and their two daughters, Sam, 6, and Lola, aged 5, were staying in the next room.

“Denise had to go with the cops and leave the girls with a nanny. She looked distraught,” says a spy.

Charlie was arrested in Colorado last year after a fight with ex-wife Brooke Mueller. He has previously admitted using both cocaine and hookers, but avoided jail time by spending 30-days at a rehab.

What this latest spectacle may do to both his career and the outcome of any future infractions, however, can only be guessed…

Update: The prostitute who locked herself in a bathroom with goodtime Charlie when he flipped out Monday night, says he was also using cocaine, RadarOnline.com reports.  Charlie has been out of rehab for two months, battling alcoholism and an addiction to crack.
