Sister Wives’ wife #2 married to #1′s brother

[HMG Celebrity News] — That glorious banquet of white trash that is ‘Sister Wives’ just got even more fun — It’s now been discovered that one of Kody Brown’s four wives was originally married to another wife’s brother.
It seems Brown’s second wife, Janelle married Adam Barber — the brother of Kody’s first wife, Meri — in Salt Lake City in 1988. They divorced two years later, then Janelle and Kody performed a ‘spiritual union’ ceremony in 1993.
A source says Kody even helped break up the marriage, and another insider says Meri is still distressed by the link.
“Meri was originally very upset over Janelle dumping her brother,” a family source tells the Star. “I think there’s been a lot of tension between her, Janelle and Kody all these years.”
The Brown’s unusual lifestyle has proved a hit, drawing over 2-million viewers — a record for TLC. But the reception from lawmakers has been less than warm — The day after the pilot aired, Salt Lake City Police announced they were debating polygamy charges. Kody could face 20-years in jail, and each wife could get up to five.
No charges have so far emerged, but just being in the show has already cost Meri her job and lost Kody several clients for his advertising business. And they’ve got twelve children to feed. So life could be better.

I bet Jerry Springer is pissed he did not get to these people first. This guy is such a tool. He goes on national TV to thumb his nose at the law, convinces these women to expose themselves and the children. Kody’s clients are dumping him, one “wife” lost her job, the other could get fired from her job and Robyn, good luck finding a job. These people are heading toward welfare and the people of Utah get to pay for these people to live and if Kody has his way, he is going to knock up Robyn as fast as he can. So my last count was 15 kids and plans for more.
I think all of them need to go to jail, Kody for 5 years each offense and the women a few years each, Old Kody might not look so good to them once he is locked up. I think the good people of Utah needs to demand the law be upheld.
You may want to check out wives of Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism who had the origional polygamy ‘revelation’ after his wife Emma caught him with their 16 year-old maid. He “married” girls as young as 14, sisters, mother and daughters and other mens wives. That “everlasting” command is still LDS canon and on their website. Doctrine and Covenants 132, where you read your damned if you don’t believe it and need it to go to heaven and be gods yourself. After his death Brigham Young brought that garbage to Utah. mmm just throwing this out there you are wrong about mormons and have no dang clue what you people are talking about! before you go and judge people by what they believe find out that facts!
Why is the media calling these women “wives?” The only wife is the first, legal wife, the remaining three women are concubines in Kody the Copulator’s harem. Why these women have degraded themselves in this way, I do not know. Don’t the three concubines realize that they have no legal rights and they and their children are facing poverty? Only the legal wife is entitled to share in Kody’s health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, pension benefits, etc. God help them if one of them or their children falls seriously ill — they’ll be on their own to face mountainous bills. It will be the same story when Kody the Copulator’s 16 kids want to attend university — how can that selfish little man help 16 kids financially? He can’t. This irresponsible creature is only interested in his sex fest where he has a woman every night, while the women have to line up and take their turn. He has reduced them and his children to the status of chattels and second-class citizens. Wake up, ladies, and smell the coffee! The year is 2010 AD not 2010 BC, and concubines and harems belong to the tyrants of the Third World, not the USA.
Please think about what you are all saying here. Many families have many children and support them. Look at the Duggars! People are so judgemental of others and really, who is anyone to judge someone else?? If they are happy , loving family who have spiritual values and teach morals and modest standards to their children, as it seems this family is doing , they are doing a great job!
People have different values and relationships. It doesn’t mean they are wrong, and doesn’t mean, certainly, that those who do not share the same practices are right!
Freedom is what America is made of. If men can’t stay with ONE woman today and have an affair, like most political figures we hear about on the news each day, and this man has three, now four wives and doesn’t cheat on any of them, who is the better MAN here?
Some are too quick to judge others when they haven’t walked in their shoes.
Maybe a bit envious of this man, and other men who live this lifestyle perhaps. Perhaps other men want to be with another woman, but then , that would mean cheating on the one wife they made a vow to forever love. Most men can’t keep that vow these days or abuse the woman they are with.
This man seems to be doing what many men can’t with one wife, having four!
I am in a polygamous relationship and am happy. I didn’t expect to do this – in fact, I am not in any of the religions mentioned that promote polygamy. It just works for us. My “husband” (none of us are legally married) is a wonderful and rare man, who knows how to do relationships – how many men really can even do a great job with one woman? He also now has four, coincidentally we were just adding our fourth at the time this show came on.

I believe you that your “husband” is able to have a better relationship with each of his four “wives” than many AMERICAN men these days can do with one. I believe you that this is the most satisfying arrangement you could come up with, but that is just sad, not enviable. Men are getting away with murder in this day and age. Somehow the 60′s sexual revolution and the feminist movement — both of which were supposed to empower women (and have to a great extent) — have ended up freeing men to walk all over women. How did this happen?
Uh, “Look at the Duggars”?? They aren’t doing THEIR reality show for free, you know. But I think you make a wonderful suggestion: Everyone should have as many kids as possible, hopefully more than 15, and then do a reality TV show to support their family. Then there wouldn’t be such a dearth of bad shows on TV. Many social problems solved at once!
And I meant to add, it also follows then, ‘as many wives as possible’ as well. Not only does that go toward reaching the ‘most possible kids’ goal, it solves the other social problem you mention– high rate of commitment phobia and selfishness among men. So much better to sanction the betrayals.
