M. Night Shyamalan’s To Team With Will Smith For New Project

(HMG Movie News) – M. Night Shyamalan has signed on to direct a sci-fi film called One Thousand A. E. as his next movie (instead the oft-rumored “Unbreakable 2″), which Will Smith’s production company Overbrook will develop.  The story is being kept a secret, but Heat Vision reports that “AE” is being developed as a vehicle for Jaden Smith (The Karate Kid), Will Smith’s son. There is a starring role for an adult male, but sources say that Will is not interested in taking it. Unlike many of his other projects, “AE” will not be written by Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, The Last Airbender). Instead, Gary Whitta who worked on ‘The Book of Eli’ has been brought on to pen the script. Since Overbrook’s first-look deal is with Sony it’s expected the project will end up there.
