Taylor Swift calls out John Mayer for ‘dark, twisted games’ in new song
[HMG Celebrity News] – Apart from Kanye West at least one other man has allegedly caused Taylor Swift trouble, and that was John Mayer. And fans say Taylor may be taking revenge.
Her new album. ‘Speak Now’ includes one track, ‘Dear John’ which has some critics thinking it may be Taylor’s way of redressing the pain of a love match gone wrong.
Addicted to singing since she was 12 the now 20-year old Swift is known for revisiting her love-life in song — the track ‘Forever and Always’ from 2008′s ‘Fearless’ is said to be about ex-BF Joe Jonas, who dumped her with a 30-second phone call.
But the lyrics of ‘Dear John’ suggest this may be the most painful trip yet.
“Dear John / I see it all now that you’re gone / Don’t you think I was too young / To be messed with / The girl in the dress / Cried the whole way home / I should’ve known.” she sings in one verse.
A later stanza proves the pain went pretty deep;
“It was wrong / Don’t you think 19′s too young / To be played by your dark, twisted games…/..You’ll add my name to your long list of traitors who don’t understand / And I’ll look back in regret I ignored what they said/ ‘Run as fast as you can’.”
Taylor spent a lot of time with John back in 2009, helping him write ‘Half of My Heart,’ for his last album. Rumors of a romance soon flourished, but neither singer confirmed it.
And while she hasn’t yet said the song is about Mayer, Swift’s previously told reporters that her lyrics are;
“All made very clear. Every song is like a road-map to what that relationship stood for. And every song is like that. Everyone will know, so I don’t really have to send out emails on this one.”
The new album debuts on Monday. So you do you think the song’s a smack-down on Mayer or is this just hype?…
