Details on Mel Gibson’s ‘Hangover 2′ role
(HMG Celebrity News) – It has been confirmed that howling Mel Gibson will play an play an outlandish Bangkok tattoo artist in “The Hangover 2.” The sequel movie, in which the “Hangover” guys head to Southeast Asia for the wedding of Ed Helms’ character to a Thai American woman, is already in production and set to come out in May. Two people close to the production confirmed to The New York Post that Gibson, 54, who’s maintained public silence since recordings apparently capturing his violent rants against ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva surfaced last summer, will play an American expat living in Thailand. It’s unclear if the character is totally fictional or if Gibson will be playing himself, banished to tattoo artistry in the wake of his scandal.
Meanwhile Mel Gibson’s loyal buddy Jodie Foster saying that, despite his troubles, Gibson remains “the most loved man in the film business.”
Foster tells Extra that Gibson, is an “incredible and loyal friend” who will hopefully emerge soon from his “rough time.”
As for his upcoming comedy cameo, “He really liked the humor in that first [Hangover] movie, so I’m glad he’ll be in it!” Foster, 47.
